A Year of Photography – Day 147

Today I went to the Oshke-Kno-Kewewen Pow Wow in Dowagiac, Michigan.  I had a great time and took a lot of photos.  I also earned myself a lovely sunburn!  I spent the entire day with the Jones clan, pictured below:

What a fun group of people!

A Year of Photography – Day 146

Today was a busy and fantastic day.  First, I had my last “day” at Meritor.  I was out of the building by 11:30 a.m.  YAY!  Then, I went to Flagstar Bank, met the assistant branch manager, opened a business checking account, and possibly made a friend in the process.  Immediately after, I drove my happy butt to Rodgers Lake in Dowagiac, Michigan, where my adopted mother married her wonderful husband in a traditional ceremony near the pow wow grounds (photos of that will be posted on Facebook later in the week).  While waiting for everything to be ready for the ceremony, I took this photo of my “little brother”:

A Year of Photography – Day 145

I stepped outside my box today and went to Painting With a Twist in Ferndale, MI with my friend Karla and her English teacher, Rebecca. We had a lot of fun and did something that only Karla had done before–painting while drinking wine. We had a lot of fun and while all of our paintings turned out differently, they all looked great. Note: Where i place a medicine wheel in the shape of my tribe’s flag, the “expected” version had a cross. (I don’t follow directions well).
